SAE 15W-50 + SAE 5 = Dual Grade
Dual-grade oil means it has two, certified viscosity ratings. The NEW SYN3® provides an SAE 15W-50 (multi-grade) and an SAE 50 (monograde), with ONE fluid. With dual-grade performance, NEW SYN3 is designed to perform across a wide range of temperatures, ensuring optimal performance in all riding conditions.
The new formula is an innovative change that has been modernized and improved to allow the oil to operate with dual grade performance. The new SYN3 provides the viscosity stability of an SAE 50 for high temps and high load operation while performing like an SAE 15W-50 for cold weather starts and operation.
No. The change in winter weight (from 20W to 15W,) will not harm your Harley-Davidson’s performance in hot weather climates. The new fluid will perform well as an SAE-50, but also protect like a 15W-50 in colder weather. New SYN3 actually performs better in high-heat applications.
