The birthplace of an iconic brand, the original Harley-Davidson factory in Milwaukee is where passion, innovation, and craftsmanship came together to create the first Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Today, it serves as the corporate headquarters for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

Located at 3700 W. Juneau Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53208, the building is not open to the public except during special event tours.

Stand by the Davidson Park sign at the entrance off Highland Blvd. Across the street, in what is now the Molson Coors parking lot, stood the Davidson family home. Envision the small 10x10 shed in the backyard where it all started.

Walk toward the buildings and glance up at the water tower. During the early factory years, rooftop water tanks were functional necessities. Elevated reservoirs ensured reliable water pressure, critical for powering steam boilers, fire suppression, and other industrial operations.

3700 Building

After looking at Willie G’s engraved brick, turn to face the long brick building in front of you. From the early 1900s through the early 1970s, the vast majority of Harley-Davidson motorcycles came out of Juneau.
