Photographs by Josh Kurpius
Originally on display January 17 – May 18, 2014
Rider and photographer Josh Kurpius’ work reveals the many contradictions embedded within his experiences on the road with friends; quiet reflections among the noise of vintage choppers, broken-down standstills after rolling with the throttle wide open for miles, camaraderie while surrounded by the solitude and emptiness of the endless horizon. A sense of timelessness runs throughout the photographs. References in the images look just as plausibly 1970s as they do modern, from the riders and their bikes to the landscape.
Every picture tells a story. Especially a Josh Kurpius picture. Here’s the story behind the remarkable Living Lost photos, told by Josh himself.
