Girl Scouts Visit Harley-Davidson

Girl Scouts

The third annual Girl Scouts Manufacturing Day was recently held at our Pilgrim Road Powertrain Operations facility. The event helped 36 Girl Scouts earn their Product Design Badges and learn what it takes to turn a sketch into a motorcycle.

The girls experienced the unique opportunity to take a factory tour and learn about powertrains. Afterward they were given the challenge of replicating the assembly line themselves, working as material handlers, sub-assemblers and vehicle assemblers to construct Lego motorcycles.

By the end of the day the girls got a feel for the teamwork, creativity, and high level of engineering that goes into designing a world class product.

Outreach events such as this one are a demonstration of the company’s work to support diversity and inclusion, promote careers in manufacturing, and build the next generation of riders!
