It is possible to overload your motorcycle's charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. If your combined electrical accessories operating at any one time consume more electrical current than your vehicle's charging system can product, the electrical consumption can discharge the battery and cause vehicle electrical system damage. Ask your dealer for advice about the amount of current consumed by additional electrical accessories.

Electrical Connection Update Kit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Harley really missed the mark on this one. There is no wire connected to the accessory switch on the triple tree. If you are buying this to add an accessory that will be switched on and off this will not work. Why Harley, did you only put 3 wires on this instead of 4?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You May Need This If you are installing a heated seat and/or heated grips, this part is necessary. Unfortunately, the necessity of this item is not obvious until one attempts to install one of the above components. Harley should, as a matter of practice, advise purchasers of all the necessary parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy Purchased this for my 2014 limited. I need a connection for my new custom made heated Corbin seat. It was so easy to install, it took longer to open the box. I like the fact that they give you a extra set of lead wires. I plan on using them for lights under my bike, in the future.

Why isn't this switched power?

I installed the heated hammock seat on my 2014 FLHTK Ultra Limited. I tested the plug output and it had 12 volts DC on it no matter what position the bike's switches were in (run, on, off, accy, etc.). I don't want to drain my battery if I forget to switch off the seat or if it is accidentally switched on. What are my options?

I just ran into somewhat of the same issue. this harness update kit makes it possible to have a positive B+ wire (on all the time) and a switched power wire (on when main switch is in on or accy) with a ground source. this is done either thru the 4 pin deutsch connector or with just single wires. both styles included with harness and are the same either way. to answer your question, you should confirm your seat is receiving power from the violet w/blue tracer wire (switched). also if you wanted to run from accy switch on the triple tree, you will need the 4th wire not included in this harness but is present on the bike side of connector. I swapped pins there to make my violet wire run from said switch. sorry this is so much reading, but ive found no answer online anywhere explaining this simple idea.

If my bike already has one touring electrical connection update kit for heated grips, do I need a second one if I want to add something else?

I added heated grips to my 2014 Ultra so I suspect my dealer put on a touring electrical connection update kit. Now I want to add something else that requires power. Do I need a second update kit or can the one kit handle multiple accessories?
Asked by: sgl0226
if your are running the grips from the deutsch connector, then all you would need is part number 70264-94A to expand into 2 connectors. if run from just wire to wire splice then you will need a T-tap or to re-do those connections.

Where would you plug this in on a 2014 for a heated or road zepplin seat

Where is the accessory connector on a 2005 Sportster 1200 C?

Asked by: irish
Hey Irish, It's inside the electrical caddy, under the left side cover (a gray, eight-way Molex pin housing with a weather cap).
