Smart Security System is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice but kinda pointless without the buzzer Firstly this works great. Wish I could have installed this myself and not have the dealer do it, but it is what it is. I like the fact I do not have to use my key in the ignition, I like the blinking security light, I like the immobilizer function. What I find annoying is that I need the buzzer in order to use the pager. I find it annoying that the buzzer instructions are not good explaining where the connector for the buzzer is at. BTW, the buzzer connector is on the electrical caddy, you cannot see it, just feel for it. I suggest having the dealer do the buzzer when doing the security module, it will save you some aggravation. I would do this again, and I am happy with it, the security may never stop a thief, but it does give me a nice piece of mind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but has small issues Had the dealer install this and it works as advertised but to set off the alarm you really have to move the bike to set this thing off. I have been getting stuff out of my saddle bags moving the bike quite a bit and have never set it off and my wife gets on the passenger seat with the bike on the jiffy stand and never sets it off. I also had the Smart Siren II Security System-68328-06A installed and I think this is a must have with the security system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it if you don't have I just had this installed on my Road King, work perfect and notify your insurance company for a discount. The dealership will need to install cause it has to be programmed to the bike.

This alarm looks like it plugs into the flasher, does it, also is it plug and go self updating or does it requirer dealer instalation

Asked by: oneup
This alarm replaces your turn signal flasher unit also reffered to as the BCM. The replacement must be done at the dealership otherwise your bike will not run for more than 2 seconds. It will turn on and everything will look normal but it will quit running. The dealer will flash the new BCM and marry it to your ECM and add the fobs to the known fobs so it will work correctly.
