Signature Series FLSTC Rider Seat & Backrest is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better for the Passenger, but not the rider I bought this seat for a 5 day trip around Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The seat was much more comfortable for my wife in the back, but the riders seat was much less comfortable than the stock seat. It also pushed me forward on the bike. I don't know how far it moved me forward in inches, but I know it was far enough that I took to up-shifting with my toe because it was too uncomfortable to reach back and shift with my heel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't recommend for FLSTC This seat does not work on my '14 Heritage. As a previous reviewer pointed out, this seat has no side mounting screws. Thus, the only thing holding it in place are the front tongue and the little rear mounting screw. The grab strap mounts to the side of the fender and is too loose to secure the seat in place. I feel that is entirely too unstable on my bike and returned it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mounting Not Suitable for 2001 FLSTCi This review is specifically about my 2001 Heritage Softtail Classic and may not apply to newer models. This seat seems to be of good quality; however, the seats on my bike have side mount bolts in addition to the rear fender bolt. This seat does not have side mount bolts. As a result, the only thing holding the seat in place is the tongue-in-groove at the gas tank and the single rear fender bolt (which requires an additional adapter kit for the 2001 model). The seat does not feel stable with this set up and the appearance looks unfinished with the exposed side bolt holes. I returned it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from FLSTC seat with backrest Seat is well made, and easily installed on my 2010 FLSTC. I am 74" tall and 70 years old and thought a backrest would help on long rides. After installing the seat, I noticed the rider was moved forward on the bike and the foot controls didn't feel right to me. I am not sure how far forward the seat moved the rider, beast guess in 2 inches. I didn't feel comfortable and returned the seat. The seat may work for a shorter rider.

What do I do with the orginal passenger seat front mounts?

When installing this seat on my 2010 FLSTC, do I need to remove the studs and caps that the front of the orginal passenger seat mounted to or do I leave that hardware in place?
