Part Number 51700-09

Finish / Color: Black

The perfect combination of foam density and shape has resulted in our most comfortable seat for long haul touring. The seat is shaped with a wide seating area to spread the pressure across the broad surface and a narrow nose area to keep your legs together for a shorter reach to the ground.

  • Features a built-in, fully adjustable and removable rider backrest for added support
  • Provides a 5-position height adjustment with 1.5" range, and a wide range of forward/back adjustment with the quick twist of the control knob
  • Backrest pad features a sleek shape that provides full lower back support without pushing the rider forward
  • When combined with the comfortable Passenger Pillion P/N 52000133 or 51770-09 (sold separately), the slim profile of the rider backrest offers the passenger a few more inches of space, and the fold-down design permits easy passenger mounting/dismounting

Signature Series Solo Seat with Rider Backrest is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from An upgrade from the stock seat I wanted to upgrade my seat within a week of buying my 2016 Iron. It was just killing me on longer distances.. My local dealer has the seat demo program but has nothing really in a solo sportster line however they did let me order this seat and give it a try before I bought it. That was the only way I would lay down this much cash for a seat. I liked the backrest and found one other similar seat from another company and the price was about the same. It is a definite improvement from the stock. It is a bit wider at the back and has a good feel with the back rest installed. I sit up about an inch higher and further back than with the stock seat. My knee doesn't touch the air cleaner now. The backrest is removable and has 4: vertical positions. The backrest can be adjusted forward about an inch. rather basic adjustments for a seat this expensive. It's a little wider than I like but overall not a bad seat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Far from Perfect Bought this seat because I had a ride of 4000km. I have always had sundowner seats before. I read the write up and thought wow this should be a more comfortable seat, well was I wrong the back rest is very basic the adjuster broke in the first week the seat is worse than sitting on my xr1200 that I had basically it does not conform to your shape at all Maybe this is for someone heavier than me, I am about 200lb very bad choice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solo seat This seat is great. I was nervous ordering it, but it feels great and the backrest is a game changer. I can really rack up the miles now with the backrest and it comes out super easy

Does the seat sit high?

I have a 2017 CVO Street Glide. I love the solo seat it came with as it keeps me further back (I am 6'2", so I like the extra leg room) and low on the bike. Only issue is I have back problems and could really use a back rest for longer hauls, but that seat has no back rest option. I have tried a Mustang seat, but it sat 2 - 3 inches higher than my stock seat. Hated it. The pictures of this seat look like it might be rather thick making for a higher ride as well??

How does this seat position the rider compared to original seats?

Specifically how does it position the rider on a 2013 Road King?
Asked by: SouthPaul
Hi SouthPaul, Because everyone is a little different I would recommend trying this seat out on your ride through our demo seat program. Please contact your local participating dealers to inquire about it. Thank you
