This kit updates the cam chain tensioner of your Twin Cam 88® engine to the latest design, as featured on the Twin Cam 96™ engine. The billet cam support plate has been designed to allow the installation of the Twin Cam 96™ hydraulic cam chain tensioner to Twin Cam 88®-equipped models.

  • Significantly outlast the spring loaded tensioners, and are an ideal addition to an engine modified for improved performance
  • 02-'06 models utilize a Twin Cam 96™ single row front roller chain and sprocket (included in kit)
  • 99-'01 models use Original Equipment front silent chain and sprocket to retain the cam position sensor function
  • The kit includes an improved Screamin' Eagle® High-Flow Oil Pump that provides increased oil pressure at high-operating temperatures
  • This kit increases the oil supply by 23% and scavenging by 50% when compared to the '99-'05 Original Equipment oil pump, and reduces operating temperature of bearings to improve bearing life

Fits ’99-’05 Dyna®, ’00-’06 Softail® and ’99-’06 Touring models. Installation requires separate purchase of Spacer Kit P/N 25285-08, Cam Service Kit P/N 17045-99D and Drive Gear Retention Kit P/N 25566-06.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good re- design I am the original owner of a 2003 FLHTCI, true anniversary with around 74000 on it. Replaced the original cam chain tensioners at 28K, and at 69K those failed. I upgraded to the Screaming Eagle hydraulic tensioners and am happy so far. The original was a bad design and I feel Harley Davidson should have helped with cost of upgraded product, but after numerous calls to them I was rejected. Very sad support.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Camplate,oil pump disapointment. I had 15k on bike when I bought it so I had it checked by local HD guys and found a little work was needed. So I decided to upgrade a few things while we were there. I went with the 583 EZ start cams from S&S and the Cam-plate upgrade from HD complete kit. Big bore kit (97") ,trick heads from J.E.T. ,S&S roller rocker, Fuel-Moto adjustable pushrods, S&S duel filter intake, Bazattie 2into1 equal length pipes, Power Commander V. From day one of picking up bike had low volume tick from upper end. After having bike gone over by local High performance tech, found rockers not clearanced for end gap. Corrected and noise got less. After 17k noise was unbearable on top end and oil pressure would drop 18lbs.while at steady RPM on flat road, an drop to 4-2lbs psi at stop. Back to shop finding SE cam-plate pop off warped and sticking. Talked with HD, So sorry Charlie over 1 year old and nothing we can do but sell you a new one.. Guess what is not going back in my motor?? Be warned to check more often when you hear noise.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bike sounds great I ride a 06 Fatboy and at 30,000 miles OE tensioner was shot. Knew this was going to happen so had the HD shop in Bowling Green, KY replace. While in the cam area I had the 211 SE Cams installed, a super tuner and dyno tuned. Love the way bike sounds and rides. Recommend all these products. Couple of months after, went on 2,334 mile ride and bike ran great. Only issue was with bigger cam MPG dropped 2 to 4 MPG, but expected that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engine runs great! The added oil volume with the larger oil pump is a plus. Installed by my local Harley dealer. I feel the difference in the way the engine runs better. I like the idea of the larger oil pump for increased oil volume.

is there or is there not a gasket or some type of seal beteween the new high flow oil pump and the cam support plate?

In the kit there is not an o-ring or gasket and the PDF refers to the owners manual when installing the pump which specifies using the o-ring in the Cam Service Kit (25533-99A). Upon inspection of the parts there is not grove for this o-ring on the new high flow oil pump nore is there one in the cam support plate. I thought perhaps there might be a gasket that I needed to purchase.

Hello 04FLSCT, You do not need an o-ring or gasket in between the cam plate and oil pump. The surfaces are flat enough that you do not need either one. Thank You!
