Sportster 883CC to 1200CC Stage I Conversion Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! What a difference! What a difference a 1200 makes! I got this installed on my 2016 Iron 883 with the V&H Short Shots. The kit performs as advertised; a lot more power! Remember, the ECM download from HD is a "one size fits all" type of download, and it is actually designed for the Screaming Eagle exhaust. You will need to tune it again for the equipment you installed if it is different than the Screaming Eagle stuff. It runs well with out it being re-tuned, but it will pop, spit, and lag in areas if you don't. Once I got it fine tuned, my bike runs like it just came out of the shop. Lots of torque, power, and response from the throttle. It is really worth the upgrade!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1200 conversion - get it done! I had this kit installed with V&H shortshots and Roland Sands air cleaner, tuned for high flat torque curve for back road riding and acceleration. It's transformed the bike (883 Iron). Top speed is same as I didn't change the gearing but acceleration is ferocious in any gear at any revs above 2000. Immense fun to ride, thoroughly recommend.

If i buy an 883, can I ride it stock for a year, and upgrade later?

I am saving up for my first bike. I am not getting a HD for my first bike, but plan on getting something in the $6000 range, and selling it for $5000, when I've saved another $7000, to drop $12,000 on an 883. I'd like to ride the 883 for a year before I upgrade it to a 1200 for financial reasons. Is it possible to make the upgrade a year or so after purchase?

Cause of a slipping clutch after only 400km

Late2016 I took delivery of a Sportster 883N (Iron) customised as a 70 TT Racer. The bike was supplied with a full fairing, matching paint job and 44mm exhaust pipes. The motor was fitted with an 883 to 1200 Screamin Eagle Stage IV kit. After 400km when I just started opening the throttle a little in 3rd, 4th & 5th gear I noticed the clutch is slipping. I took the bike to my nearest dealer who took the bike for a test ride and confirmed the slipping clutch. Took the bike to the dealer where it was purchased. They removed the cover and confirmed that the clutch is slipping but told me that the clutch is not covered under the warranty. They offered to replace the clutch plates at their cost. Not sure that is all that is required.
