High-Flow Air Cleaner Kit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, cheap upgrade First, I bought this air cleaner kit because I wanted to keep the stock look. I don't want it to look like it has been upgraded for performance. The stock air cleaner cover works just fine with this. Installed the air cleaner myself in less than 45 minutes and I was back on the road. The amount of airflow has to be at least double what the old unit was letting in. No comparison to the two filters. While the performance improvement is not exponential it is notable. Quite happy to have it on the bike. A little worried about the effects of rain. A lot of the filter is uncovered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but needs rainsock I chose this because I liked how it kept the original look with added performance. However this thing does not like getting wet. It may not be as open as other air cleaners however my bike does not like when it gets wet. I really hope they make a rainsock for this soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Nice Setup! Wanting to keep within the "new" HD warranty guidelines I chose this high-flow air cleaner setup. I like the fact that it is CARB certified and works well with the CARB certified SE Street Cannon mufflers. I also used the SE Street Tuner and am really happy with the complete SE Stage 1 upgrade on my 2017 Tri Glide. As a note, apparently the mothership read the other review and now the cover medallion is attached with heavy duty velcro.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could stand a modification Bought this since it was an inexpensive upgrade. While I can't speak to the performance end, what I can say is that whoever designed it wasn't thinking about ever removing it. The screamin eagle placard which goes on the outside of the cover, replaces the 107" placard. The new s.e. placard has no hole in it, and the bolt that holds the chrome cover on which allows access to the filter, is behind it. So you're not going to be pulling your filter off to clean it without yanking the s.e. placard off. Which I might add is attached by double sided tape. You're not getting it off without damaging it, because these placards are made of very thin aluminum. Leaving your 107" placard on and not using the s.e. is the way to go... Unless you bought a big bore kit like I did, and didn't want a 107" placard on it!

If I use this air cleaner with the VH Fp3 will this void my factory warranty

This is the setup suggested by the dealer

Is the air filter a K&N?

Is this a K&N filter? Would a K&N filter help more? Is the K&N filter from HD fit this?
Asked by: Dustoff54
The filter is Harley branded. It has a tag on the bag it comes in stating it is made in the USA and to use K&N oil when servicing the filter. The pleated gaze filter looks like every K&N filter I've ever purchased.

Is this kit needed on the new M8 107?

I'll be buying a Road King Special at the end of the month and was wondering if this kit is needed or if just replacing the air filter with the K&N will do.
Asked by: mikelikethebike
not 'needed' and I don't believe K&N has yet to offer a replacement filter for the stock AC housing but even if they did you wouldn't feel a difference. this kit is 'needed' as part of a Stage 1 performance upgrade, which includes the SE Street Canon Mufflers and SE Pro Street Tuner. These 3 parts will be a little over $1000, then labor to install and calibrate the ECM with the tuner figure another $300 at a dealership. you of course could do all the installs yourself if so inclined after reading the instructions. I've done this all to my 2017 Road King and the biggest improvement for your money is a midrange torque boost that is noticeable, better looks and sound (which is subjective however) and the engine feels a little more responsive overall. Your idle will be bumped from 850 rpm's to 950. You will lose much of the benefit of having a more protected air filter system in the stock one. good luck and enjoy your new bike, sure you will love it!
