It is possible to overload your motorcycle's charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. If your combined electrical accessories operating at any one time consume more electrical current than your vehicle's charging system can produce, the electrical consumption can discharge the battery and cause vehicle electrical system damage. Ask your dealer for advice about the amount of current consumed by electrical accessories.

Saddlebag-Mount Auxiliary Power Port is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice to have power Easy install. Takes all about 30 minutes once the saddle bag is removed. The saddle bag removal adds about 5 minutes to the install. Works great! Now my phone is able to be charged out of sight in the saddle bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the price The actual 12 volt receptacle was fairly nice, but overall, I was not satisfied with this purchase. The outer wire covering was poor quality and not assembled very well. It looked like shrink tape but it isn't. I wound up replacing it with shrink tape myself. But my biggest problem was with the wire retainer that they supply to hold the wire in place as it comes through your saddle bag wall. I drilled the hole as instructed but was not able to make the clip actually seat into the hole. It almost seemed that the wall of the saddle bag was too thick. I could push the clip into the hole but it wouldn't seat in and stay. Also, the clip is slightly oblong and left a very small gap on each side that was sure to let water in. After several trips to auto parts stores, home improvement stores and an electrical supply store, I finally was able to fashion a nice looking remedy that was water tight and secured the wire coming through the saddle bag wall. ...took an extra $20 to make it work right.

How long is the power cord?

Asked by: Wildman

auxillary power port connection

I'm riding an '06 flstf. Is there already a connector that I simply plug the power port in to, and if yes, where is it located? Thanks.
Asked by: Gary49
The simple answer is if you have a charging port for your battery, you use that port for the power port. If you don't charge your battery, you will need to buy this charging port to use the power port. The charger wiring is a quick install to the battery. It will have enough cable to string to your saddlebag. A trip to your Harley dealership will get you the correct setup for your bike. Hope that this helps
