Styled specifically for the XR1200™ motorcycle, this wind deflector leads your charge down the asphalt. The compact shape preserves the bike's raw, muscular look, but still splits the wind to take some of the air pressure off the chest.
- 18" Clear windshield with polished braces
- Mounts to the fork tubes with die-cast lever-release clamps, so the windshield does not require any "leave behind" docking hardware
- No tools are required
- Kit includes everything needed for installation

Excellent fit and function. Stabilizes very well at 60 mph and up. No more feeling like im going to be blown off the back of the bike. Blocks 99% bugs, road rocks, ect. Shields the wind very well. Easy on and off.. Recommend windshield locking clamp with this.

I bought the detachable 18" windshield for my Sportster 1200C. Installation took all of about 5 minutes. It looks great and works great. Blocks enough wind to keep you from getting battered at 75mph, but allows enough wind above the chest to let you know you are riding! Definitely recommend this windshield.

Not Happy At ALL
The actual hardware turned out to be chrome-plated pot metal.
The kind of metal that is very "micro-air bubbly" found in cheap tools at Walmart.
I had this windshield 10 months when - within 3 weeks - three of the quick-disconnects broke!!
I only remove it about once a month to clean the bike. I live in Southern California.
Additionally, when attached to the bike, I can say in confidence that they have never been "over-tightened". I'm PRAYING I can by the hardware separately and I don't have to by a whole new windshield.

I've owned three Sportsters and one Low Rider, and installed a Quick-Release Compact Windshield on each. Of all the many accessories that I've installed on my bikes, the Quick-Release Compact Windshield is at the top of the list. Material quality has been consistently outstanding, the bright-work retains its lustrous finish, the windshield is distortion free and durable, and the quick-release mechanisms function flawlessly. Except for an annual tightening of the fasteners that secure the windshield to the horizontal and vertical braces, the only maintenance required is an occasional clean-up. If only all H-D accessories were this well-designed and manufactured.
There are, however, a couple of areas for improvement. Since the improvements concern compatibility with other accessories rather than defects of the Quick-Release Compact Windshield, they did not affect my rating of the product. First: This windshield is not compatible with H-D's accessory driving lights. I'm not sure why H-D doesn't offer an alternative Quick-Release Compact Windshield with cut-outs that would accommodate its own driving lights. Second, as another commenter noted, you can replace one of the four quick-release clamps with a locking clamp. But if you do, it may be difficult to insert, turn and remove the key due to limited clearance. I found the hassle so much that it defeated the purpose of the "quick-release." I ended up removing the locking quick-release clamp and re-installed the original.
