Michelin Scorcher 31-Only validated alternative tire?

Why are Michelin Scorcher tires the only validated alternative for an Ultra Limited and not the Michelin Commander II?
Asked by: Ultraman
"Scorcher 31" is the name sake used for the Harley OEM tires. You can buy commander 2, but they are essentially the same shoe. Another alternative is the Shinko SR-777. They perform in between the Michelin and Dunlop. Priced comparable to the Dunlop. I run them on my 2014 FLHXS. Also running third party tires will not effect your warranty. Feel free to slap on whatever you wish.
