Good helmet with a few mods
I bought this helmet to replace an old helmet I had my headset in. I bought this one for the syle, features, fit and it had speaker cutouts for the headset. I like the fit of the helmet overall however I did have to get different size cheek pads. Since it's an HJC helmet the different size pads are readily available. When I went to install my HD headset, the speakers were too big to fit the cutouts. I had to cut out a little bit more of the foam to make the speaker fit flush. Since it was cold when I bought the helmet I've only used the face shield so I can't comment on the visor. Noise is acceptable. I know some have reported problems with fogging but I haven't had that problem. I haven't tried the ventilation since the high temp the two times I've ridden with the helmet were in the high 40's to low 50's. The HJC brand of this helmet was a few dollars cheaper but I liked the color scheme of the HD helmet better. I would recommend Harley offer the different size cheek pads so the customer can get the fit they want at the dealership. Overall I like the helmet and would recommend it.

Good helmet with useful features
I've put about 2,500 mi on this helmet and so far it's been a great compromise between a half lid and full face. With the face shield closed the field of view is huge and seems like nothing is in front of you. This is both good and bad.. it feels great to see so much around you. But I am sensitive to bright light, and when the sun is anywhere other than straight up, it's in your eyes. The internal sun visor is (IMO) a "light" smoke, and riding into the setting sun with a clear shield renders it useless. The Maywood is a rebranded HJC, and I found the HJ-17R shields are the correct ones and fit perfectly. I picked up the Dark Smoke shield on Amazon and it saved this helmet for me. Using the dark smoke along with the internal sunshield makes it much easier on my eyes. And it's quick and easy to switch out dark to clear for night riding.
Wind noise is acceptable. I actually think it's quieter without the face shield than with it on. I like that the visor top, plus the hinge covers come with it too. Lots of options. Using the visor instead of the shield does make the wind grab the helmet a little more, but that's to be expected. I like the look with the visor on and it works for around town and shorter highway trips. Riding without the shield with temps in the 90's was acceptable. Still hot, but the ventilation actually works ok.
The only problem I haven't solved yet is fogging. The shield fogs after about 10 minutes in the rain, and when you crack it to get air the water comes in and then it all goes bad. Also the shield will fog up pretty quick with temps under 65 or so, but cracking it open a little lets enough air in and takes care of that. I haven't found a good pinlock solution for it yet.
All in all I think this is a very good helmet for the money.

Smart design, comfortable
I had a standard gloss black HD 3/4 helmet, was happy with it except wanted a matte silver, and it was getting old (helmets should be replaced after 5 years or so). I bought this Maywood because the design made sense to me. It's got one big, easy to use vent button. The old helmet had two, smaller button and vents, which makes no sense: the Maywood flows air just as well on hot days with one vent opening, and a lot easier to operate while riding. The Maywood's sun visor mechanism is not as smooth though, it seems cheaper and less robust to me. But after one season of riding it is still working fine, so no actual problem so far.
Wind noise is what you'd expect from a 3/4, not soft, not loud. Comfort is fine for my big, oval-ish head (I got an XXL, just like my old HD helmet).
General note: a 3/4 helmet, in my opinion, gives you the optimal balance of protection vs comfort and convenience if you are a cruiser (not racer or tourer). And the Maywood is a great example of one. I love mine. Try one at a dealer.
