Road King / Road Glide / Freewheeler Tallboy Handlebar is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tallboy bars 2016 Road King- I'm 6'01", have extended footboards, extended pedal/shifter and daddy long legs Le Pera seat. I liked the stock bars but I would develop shoulder and back pain on longer rides. These allow me to lean back to a comfortable and more natural riding position. I bought them online and had them shipped to my local dealer, they arrived quickly and were packaged well so they were in perfect shape. I'm not an experienced mechanic and I'd never done this before but I was able to install these within 5 hours. I was able to use my stock lines so no additional parts were needed. I'm very pleased with these bars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for the stock handlebars on my 2012 Road Glide Ultra I was having shoulder pain when riding with the stock handlebars so I swapped them out with these. It gave a good increase in comfort and control. I pulled them back very far to make wrist position more comfortable. Now when I ride my back is upright and against the backrest and no more pain. Installation required removal of the pins in the connectors attached to the hand controls and throttle assembly in order to pull the wires through the handlebars. The original handlebars had holes drilled in the sides and utilized plastic clips inserted into the holes to attach the tube containing the individual wires leading to the controls. The new bars had no such holes. The installation took about 5 hours to complete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great one to get more reach Fully agree with Buddhahog. I had the tall boy installed on my 2011 FLHRC. I needed more reach. I am 5'8. This handlebar has been designed for tall guys I guess. Therefore I pull it towards me when installing at the dealer's. As a consequence, I get more reach and my hands stands lower, my back stands right when riding. The handlebar is thus a little bit larger than the stock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heritage Style Replacement I got these to replace the Heritage style bars that had already replaced the stock bars on my 2011 FLHRC. The Heritage bars were still just a little too far forward for me and still caused me neck and shoulder pain when I road for long distances. I changed to this bar (no additional parts were required for my bike) and I can now sit back and enjoy the ride without the pain. I still have excellent control of the bike (maybe even better than with the Heritage bars) and the bars look great. So if you have the Heritage bars and they are just a an inch or two too far forward then I would recommend you try these bars before you go spending a bunch of dough on new cables and wires.

What is the difference(dimensionally) in these handlebars and a 2010 FLHR stock handlebars.

Asked by: Larryb

Specifications Compared To Freewheeler (FLRT) Stock Handlebars?

The details indicate that these are "Set 2" higher and 1.5" narrower compared to the stock Road King® handlebar". What would the specifications be as compared to the stock 2016 FLRT handlebars? Would the installation of these on a 2016 FLRT require additional parts for installation?
Asked by: papapearlsjam

Would like to put these handlebars on my wife's 2015 Freewheeler.

How does the rise, tip-to-tip, and pullback dimensions of this bar compare with the stock Freewheeler handlebar?
Asked by: Kdog

when I replace original handlebars with these, can I assume I will also then need to get new hand grips, since current ones are glued on?

Asked by: HolzHog
Hi Holzhog, Yes, we suggest that you purchase a set of detachable hand grips to accommodate your new Road King handlebar. Thank You for your submission.

Please verify Tallboy handlebar spec differences

In a previously submitted question it was asked if the difference in spec's on these bars were when compared to stock 2014 FLHR bars. The response said yes to Road King. Does the answer in fact mean when compared to 2014 or to 2013 and earlier models? What are the specs (measurements, rise, pullback, tip to tip etc.) on 2014 stock FLHR bars? Thanks
Asked by: rusnsc
I was considering this handlebar; however, based on the responses I see, now it appears this handlebar has LESS of a rise vs. the stock handlebar for a 2014 Road King, so as advertised the Tallboy is NOT 2" higher, rather 2" lower. Is that correct??
