Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny if you have a sportster Are you tired of tracking your mileage on your sporty? Then this is definitely the product for you! Super easy to install; it’ll take you maybe an hour even for those who aren’t mechanically inclined. Be careful when you install the jumper wire though, the slots aren’t labeled. Set up for the tach is just as easy, I absolutely love this thing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the easiest thing to install I installed in about 6 hours counting internet research. Things went ok, but making sure the sensor wasn't touching anything and stuffing it back into the tank was concerning. At first I got "Low Range" and fuel low warning, but once I backed it out of the garage it started working and has ever since. Great range feature. I would hate to install it again, but glad I did. This install might be something worth paying for Harley dealer to install so you get the warranty...but there is satisfaction to doing it...but just be ready to spend some time on the job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Takes the guess work out of mileage on your sporty. It is a nice feature to be able to tell when you should think about gassing up. The only downside is you MUST purchase this the same time as the speedometer (if you choose the upgraded speedo with fuel gauge built in), They must sync up together from the initial start. That was a big headache, as the dealer did not explain this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feels like a waste Purchased this from a HD Dealer while I was out one day. Decided to install the speedo myself to save some dough. Went to a differant dealer where I usually have stuff done and they said the kit was incorrect. Imagine my shock, but of course I didn't question because this dealer employ's 1%'er bikers and I don't need that trouble. So I installed it myself, doesn't work for me so now I'm stuck with these expensive parts inside the fuel tank. Not interested in paying another dealer to tell me it's the wrong one even though I purchased through a Harley dealer.

I need a sending unit for my 07 Nightrod special. How much and how soon can I get it to Dallas

Asked by: Khoota

Does it work independently on the Roadster?

I have been told that the new Roadster (XL1200CX) is able to use this with the stock speedometer. Of course, I am skeptical... Anybody know if this is the case?

I just bought this fuel level sensor kit and new digital speedometer for my 2016 Iron 883. The guy in the service has installed new speedometer before fuel sensor kit but i learnt that it should be installed first. My fuel sensor is not working now and the fuel lamp is always on. There is no warning about this problem in instructions. I need help and solution!

Hey izoo, Thanks for your question. I'd recommend that you contact the dealer that installed the products and work directly with them to resolve any issues that you are having.

I have a 2016 iron. I just bought the fuel level sensor kit. Do I need to buy a speedometer or can I use the stock one that is currently on my bike?

sequence of fitment

So, now I am totally confused. One person comments that the fuel sensor must be installed simultaneously with the speedo, and another says they can be installed months apart. What's the correct way to do it?
Asked by: kevin211
Hey again kevin211, On a Sportster, you gotta install the fuel sensor first so the speedo can detect it and activate the fuel gauge properly. If not, you'll have issues.
