    Detachable docking hardware
H-D Detachables Solo Rack is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Feel Added this detachable rack to my 2016 Iron 883. Heavy duty construction and I like the way it looks. I ordered the docking hardware through my local dealership to make sure I get the right ones. The rack fits further back on my fender than what is shown in the picture but they may have a different seat than the stock seat. It states 10 pounds max weight. A locking type mechanism on both sides secures the rack tightly but does not make it secure if someone wanted to steal it. I really don't see any reason to take it off so being detachable doesn't do much for me. I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Iron 883 This rack is perfect for a bike with a chopped rear fender, such as an Iron 883. The contours of the rack compliment the shape of the fender, as does the low profile. The rack's size is perfect for a small cooler or duffle bag. The ability to remove the rack (with installation of the separately purchased, mandatory removable docking hardware) is nice, although mine stays on my bike on a nearly permanent basis. My only complain, which is very minor, is that the design makes use of a bungee net somewhat difficult, as there are not adequate areas for multiple hooks. As I said, though, this is only a minor setback.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and pricey but not many other choices Really well made rack, I am glad it is removable as it detracts from the bobber style. Suprisingly heavey and will hold about anything you would wnat to throw a leg over. Be sure and fully research what hardware you need, The 800 line and the parts dealer could not get it right I looked up the fitment and found the correct part no. myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice addition I ride my Iron 883 to work and have been looking for an alternative to saddle bags. This little rack makes a nice addition. It's much heavier than it looks and doesn't rattle around. Using an Eagle Creek Half-Cube I can get a whole republican outfit stowed on the bike. It sits low to the fender and there is still space between the saddle (I've put on a single saddle; looks like an imitation bobber) and the rack to throw on the saddle bags. It's highly bueno!

Will this rack work with the Quick Release Passenger Pillion?

Will this rack work with the Quick Release Passenger Pillion (Part 52689-09)? In addition, will the corresponding sissy bar (52726-09) fit? Thanks!

Solo detachable rack - I can't figure out how to remove quick release ?

Hi. I can not figure out how the rack quick release brackets work. I have snapped them forward with using a rubber mallet as far as I can but I still can not pull the rack up. How far forward do they go? The rack was installed at the dealer. I received no instructions. I need to remove it to change my seat. Thanks.
Asked by: Brownmax
Hi Brownmax, To remove the rack, press the release button, and pull the rotary latch lever back. Carefully lift the rear of the rack up and pull the rack out of the front docking points. Thank you for your question.
