H-D Detachables Sissy Bar Upright is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Serves the purpose, poor product quality The part serves its simple purpose well. However, like mentioned in some of my other reviews, it is not properly manufactured. It does not fit exactly to the existing docking points of my 2008 CVO Road King like the stock short and the additional standard sissy bar I already own. This becomes more obvious at a time you use a styled backrest mount plate which, due to it's design, requires the bar ends to be in parallel and in a specific distance where the backrest resides. Both are not met and makes it really complicated and time consuming to mount the plate and tighten it as required. Finally I got it attached by making special adapters for the backrest pad myself but it remains a visibly poor fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She's all legs!! This tall sissy bar is exactly what we wanted. Something taller for my wife to be able to lean back and relax on. Seems to be more comfortable than the shorter bar. Super easy on/off with the quick detach. 2004 HD Road Glide FLTRI

I am confused on the height measurement.

Is the measurement from the top of the sissy curve to the bottom of the mounting bracket or is it to the bottom of the sissy bracket where it is welded into the mounting bracket?
Asked by: LJL21
Hi LJL21, For measuring a sissy bar--start from the top of the bar--in the middle down. Your measurement would only go to the welded portion of the sissy bar--not to the end of the brackets. Hope this helps!

Asked by: Armyvet
Hi Armyvet, In order to install this H-D Detachables Sissy Bar Upright on a 2003 FLHT, you would need Docking Hardware Kit P/N 53803-06. Thank you for your question.

What part number for straight luggage rack? Do I need another back rest pad?

I own a 2005 Harley Davidson custom FLHRSI. already fitted with a detachable sissy bar. I am interested in the tall detach passenger upright and a straight luggage rack. What do you recommend and may I know the part numbers? Do I need to buy another back rest pad? What else do I need?

Sissy bar upright

You state that your standard upright(part# 52627-09) is 12.5" and that the tall upright (part#52723-06) is 2" higher but you list the tall one as being 12.75". Should it be 14.5"? I ask because I want to use it to support a T-Bag and I need about 14" from the top of the seat to the top of the bar. Thanks
Asked by: oneup
The standard has a slight bend to it because of the frame change in '09, so the height is measured from the bend up. The tall has no bend so it's 2" taller. Hope that makes sense?!?!
