This is a well-conceived, well-designed, good looking jacket. It's perfect as is for warm 3-season riding, and for winter you just layer up. The rain protection is adequate for all but a long soaking rain. The venting is adequate for all but a 95+ day. The styling is very low key, which I like. (But I put a small patch on the left shoulder, which was bare.) I am 5'8", 34" waist and 43" chest and I fit perfectly in a Medium, with a touch of room to spare for a cold layer. I use it for my overseas adventure riding trips where I need one jacket to handle it all. It's also light in weight so easy to travel with. Love it!

Super-Versital Riding Jacket.
This is a very nice textile riding jacket. Good looking and light weight, the Competition Functional Jacket is loaded with nice features, including a second storm zipper front, 3M reflective piping, a media pocket, and adjustment abs. It's a super versital piece of riding gear. With a fleece layer, it's kept me warm on 40-50 degree mornings in the mountains, but it's light and well vented for those warm to semi-hot afternoons. While no replacement for a rain suit top, the Competition Functional Jacket is great in mist and even light rain. It's the perfect companion to pack on a weekend ride or a cross-country trip.
Downsides? Well I'd like it more if it had some visibility-enhancing color to it. Also, there is no provision for any kind of back-protection or armour (although, the CFJ has pockets for elbow/shoulder armor -which is available separately.)

Too hot for leather
Got this jacket for those days when leather is not required. Good lightweight feel but still works on those cool mornings. Also good for a rain jacket when needed. Stores nicely in the saddle bag. I'm happy with it.

This is a great jacket! The fit is perfect, ordered my regular size and it has room underneath for a sweatshirt. Has a double zipper and zippered cuffs at the wrist to keep out the cold air. I live in MD, rode in Feb when temps were in upper 30's and this jacket kept me warm! It is too heavy once temps get over 60, so get a lighter jacket for warmer days. Very comfortable and looks damn good! Lots of pockets for all your gear. Other than the bike this is the best thing I have bought from HD.
