Rated 1 out of 5 by from wish I would have saved my money Fogs up even when its not cold outside; can't use the face shield without it fogging. When the shield is down it's very noisy! The only good thing I can say is the drop down sun shield works the way it should. Mine is a size small and it's for sale now. I won't put it on again..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Prodict For Price For the cost, this is a great helmet. Slightly loud, but that's to be expected with a modular. While HJC's non-Harley branded model is cheaper, the logo is still a sleek and nice looking piece. I only wish this included the chin curtain, as there is quite a bit of wind intrusion from under the chin bar. Compared to the costs of other modular helmets, this a great value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two in one year I purchased an HJC IS-MAX 2 (which is what this helmet is) from Amazon in February 2017 as I needed a 5X and the dealership had a delay on the backorder for the HD version. I had a minor accident that damaged the helmet in August and had to replace it. I had also lost 70lbs so my head had literally lost weight and the 5X was way too big, so I went back to the dealer and bought the 4X. Between the two, I have ridden 6000 miles this year with these helmets. They work, and they're very comfortable once you wear them in. My chin is very close to the chin bar, but I have the chin shield that you can purchase after-market. I only really use it when it's raining. My biggest gripe about this helmet is fogging. When I take the windshield off my Road King I don't have the problem, but with my Road Glide the helmet seems to fog up all the time, even at 90mph on the freeway. The result is that I ride with the visor open one notch all the time. That's tedious in Seattle rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent modular helmet I rode 1,000 miles + on my Street Rod 750 and 600 miles + on my Street Glide Special. Initially the helmet is very snug, which I like. But very shortly the padding doesn't feel as snug anymore. My Street Rod does not come with a windshield so I feel the wind drag is very noticeable and it is quite hard to turn my head at speed exceeding 80 mph. In a tuck in position going 100mph + the airflow is superb. I don't feel much of a lift at any speed. The best thing about this helmet is the fact that it is modular. I can lift up the whole front helmet on a stoplight to get nice fresh air. The sunscreen is also a nicty feature which allows me to use my regular glasses while riding without the need of a prescribed sunglasses. Overall I would recommend the helmet for the price point and the features.

one of the screws (phillips) fell out while i was riding....its one that holds the face on and kind of acts as a hinge. Are these screws available of

Asked by: sac0568
if all other options fail in getting your helmet put back together, try contacting HJC, the company that made your helmet. See if there are any places they have in the States where you can buy what you need. If there isn't I'm sure they will deal with your issue directly. Also, if there's a washer/nut setup on the other side of that screw, you may have to disassemble the helmet (not that difficult) to reattach the screw.

Chin strap removal and use?

Can the chin strap face shield be removed and the the helmet used in that configuration?
Asked by: USNAO1RET
if you're speaking of the chin bar, I suppose you could unscrew the two fasteners attaching it to the helmet but I don't think it was intended to be worn in that configuration plus not knowing what type of arrangement the fasteners are screwed into you might undo nuts/washers inside the helmet and they'll be floating around never to be retrieved again unless you take the whole thing apart, and that's gonna suck. IF you're speaking of the face shield, yes, you can remove that from the helmet and use it that-a-way.

Pin lock insert

I'm looking for the pinlock insert for this helmet.
Asked by: Fatbobtrike
The HJC pinlock and chin curtain make this helmet a true 3-4 season helmet. The chin curtain is removable but the pinlock insert does not easily move from one shield to another. I scratched my outer shield and in replacing it I broke one of the tabs off the insert. For install instructions check out the Revzilla video on pinlock. Easiest method I have seen.

what are the top 10 headsets that fit this helmet

Asked by: ragman75964
Can't tell you the top 10. I have had a Sena SMH-10 and a 20S installed on mine. Both installed and worked flawlessly. I will never use anything but Send based on my current experience.
