Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit I had the Scala Rider G9X it took a long time to pair up this unit pairs up almost instantly. Yes you have to buy extra parts like the WHIM but once you get it’s worth the investment. I also found that it will pair to my scale Rider so I can still connect to my buddies who didn’t buy one yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for me I had a subpar full face with integrated bluetooth which gave out in a couple of months. Learned my lesson and got a proper helmet, then got this for the bluetooth since I'm on the road a lot. Maybe its because I'm anti-social or on a Dyna, but this headset on its own is fantastic. Sounds great, people can hear me clear as day over the phone, charges very quickly, easy to install, great battery life, so I'm fairly content. I went from the bluetooth cutting in and out while riding to being able to get off the bike, walk into the house to grab something, and never losing connection to my phone on the bike.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A Sena 20S at 10% higher price -- and no word on the Sena Freewire I think Harley must be embarrassed with their Boom 6.5. Out of the box, it supports HFP (hands free -- pairing with cell phone) but not HSP (pairing with headset), saddling us with that DIN connector from the 1940's. To add insult to injury, the new Boom!!! headset at $100+ replaces the old locking inline connector with the hugely problematic circular PS2 connector with no locking mechanism. With this product they seem to be saying, yeah, the Boom!! doesn't make the grade, you want to completely replace the functionality with a stock rebranded Sena Bluetooth headset and your own Bluetooth-capable phone. Forget about that expensive Boom!!!!!! entertainment center you paid extra for. Maybe you could just, you know, admire the bar and shield logo on the touch screen. No mention is made of the Sena Freewire, a device that connects to the Boom!! entertainment system and pairs with several Sena headsets, including this 20S. The Freewire give you access to all the features of the Boom!! system, including the CB and voice commands. Mind you, the entertainment system should have supported HSP out of the box. But although it doesn't, there is a workaround. Buy this headset (or buy the Sena branded 20S at $30 less) and the Sena Freewire, and have access to your Harley entertainment system the way it should have been.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from one of the best communicators you can get I was on the fence about these and gave them a shot so my wife and I can communicate from bike to bike. They work great! Made our recent trip very enjoyable! Over a mile range barring any mountains and such impeding the signal. She paired hers to her phone and it provided (3) easy speed dials, it worked very well. It also allowed for gps directions from her phone to go to her helmet speakers. There is an helpful app from SENA for these as well which she put on her phone. The voice activation worked great once you learn the prompts and the audio is quite clear. Unfortunately they do not pair with the Harley infotainment system but that is not an issue for me at this point. They are a Harley branded SENA 20s at a Harley premium but it played into my rewards program and was actually beneficial to pay more for them (got a $750 gift certificate coming) They are not terrible to install just be sure your helmet is appropriate for them. They fit perfect on my Shoei platinum rj open face and fit the wifes Scorpian exo gt 920 very well. SENA even makes a helmet mount for the unit that comes with a Harley 7 pin plug cord so you can hear audio from infotainment/gps through helmet speakers plus utilize the CB...I bought one through another vendor(who has great reviews of gear and such) for around a $bill and can say that it works very well also(I installed that mount on a Shoei neotech which I carry with me for inclement weather) I think an improvement would be to make it water proof as opposed to resistant...you do have to watch for that within reason. For my wife and I they work and work well!

Can the 20s or 20s evo be paired to the boom audio system, your phone and another 20s or 20s evo all at the same time, mainly so i can recieve phone calls wirelessly, and if so is there any other accesories that might need to be purchased to make it happen.

I understand that when paired with the WHIM module you can use this headset to communicate via intercom and CB. Can you also communicate with riders on other bikes who might have Sena 20S units?

Is this compatible with the 98212-10vm harley helmet??? Would really like to know this before I buy one
Asked by: ScottBryce
You can make anything fit. Half helmets you want to look at the SPH10 usually. The speakers use velcro patches to stay in place and the unit attaches with either a clamp or glue to the helmet's rim. I use mine with a Shoei RF1200 full face which has recesses for speakers. Could work if the helmet comes down over your ears.

Not Compatible??

I first saw this and got excited with the thought that HD finally will allow a bluetooth headset to fully connect to the bike. and then I read...."Not compatible with Harley-Davidson® Original Equipment Boom!™ Audio radio or communication systems" So is there another upgrade HD is selling that will let this connect to the bike's audio system or is this just a regular old blue tooth headset with the HD logo on it that doesn't connect to the bike?
Asked by: Tenfthover
Hey Tenfthover, Right now we don't offer any type of Bluetooth option that is compatible with the Infotainment systems on the Rushmore models. Thanks! Rockstar883
