Big Twin Compensator is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stock compensators I have two Fat Boy Specials, both 2010 year models. Both were bought second hand with some 12.000 miles on the odo. When I got my first, I immediately reacted to the grinding sound at start but the dealer assured me this was quite normal on this model. With experience from previous Harleys, I didn't believe him but drove away knowing I had one year warranty on the bike. A few months later I complained about the noise during start and they replaced the stock compensator with an SE under warranty, which completely cured the problem. When I bought my second a few years later it had the exact same problem so I had the dealer replace the compensator for the SE upfront. Never had the problem since.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compensator replacement I hope Harley got it right this time. After only 17000 miles on my 2013 Ultra Limited I had to spend $700 to replace the compensator. I hear this is common. Harley how about helping us out on the cost. I have been riding Harlyes over 40 years and a quarter million miles but those Indians at the dealer down the road are starting to look tempting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just had this put in my 2014 Ultra Limited My stock compensator with 20,000 miles was making noise so the dealership changed it out Friday August 21, 2015. After the change out bike is quiet Highly recommend the change.

False information

This kit will work for Harley-davidson motorcycles prior to the years you have listed. As long as they already have the rotor from a SE kit already . This SE Compensator has been updated who knows how many times as long as you have the rotor from a previous SE compensator this cheaper kit will work!!!! Don't let them fool you into a whole new kit!!!

Can one re-use the compensator bolt (10500031)?

The service manual for my motorcycle (2011 Touring) mentions to install a new bolt when servicing the compensator. The instruction sheet for the new SE compensator makes no such claim and doesn't indicate anywhere if this is the required action with the new kit. Can I reuse the bolt when servicing the new SE compensator?
Asked by: Bukwas
You are not suppose to, but I have know people to do it and not have any problems. But they do not ride their bike hard either.
