Uncovering the Dominion Collection

Harley-Davidson P&A Collections are carefully designed to ensure the perfect custom look right from the start. In the first of a new series, we take a deeper dive into the inspiration behind each of the individual Collections, starting with the Dominion Collection

The concept

Forged from solid aluminium in two base colours – bronze and black – the Dominion Collection also offers interchangeable trim pieces. These add further colour and allow the rider an almost infinite range of options to personalise their motorcycle.

“We heard from customers inspired by performance that they want their bikes to stand out,’ says Kelly Epping, Parts & Accessories Product Manager at Harley-Davidson®. “They told us they wanted slimmed-down accessories with a machined feel, and a way to differentiate their motorcycle from others – a great way to do that is with a pop of colour. I’m proud to say the Dominion Collection delivers on all these customer requests.”

Step by step

Riders start the Dominion customisation process by considering their motorcycle base paint colour and metal finishes, and whether the Gloss Black Anodised or the Bronze Powder Coated base components better complement their bike. Once the base component finish is selected, it’s then time to choose which parts of the bike are to be customised: engine components include the primary, derby, upper rocker box, cam and transmission side covers, while rider footboards, brake pedal pads, shifter peg and foot pegs are all available to swap out in the base black and orange, with various colour accent options.

Getting personal

Interchangeable inserts can be added in a muted finish palette of Brushed Black, Bronze Powder Coated, Brushed Orange Anodized and Brushed Aluminium. Riders have the option to mix and match insert colours based on their styling preference; they can even opt to leave the raw brushed aluminium surface exposed on most of the engine components, allowing it to wear and patinate naturally. The only exception is the outer primary cover, which does require an insert in the colour of your choice.

Foot controls take interchangeable trim pieces in the same finishes; then, all that’s left are the finishing touches. Hand grips, mirrors and fuel caps, as well as axle, fork and steering stem covers, are all offered in gloss black anodised or bronze powder coated finishes.
