LiveWire™ performance figures and preorder date revealed

LiveWire™, Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle, and three lightweight concept EV have debuted at the first prestigious automotive event of 2019, the Geneva International Motor Show.

Traditionally a stronghold for all-things four-wheels, the four Harley-Davidson® EV two-wheelers attracted a lot of attention during the opening press days from media and car manufacturers alike. A similar reaction will no doubt be in effect when the show opens to the general public (7-17th March), which the show organisers have forecasted 600,000+ visitors.

More LiveWire news came with Harley-Davidson revealing some final production-verified performance figures. Those impressive figures are:

  • 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds and 60-80mph in 1.9 seconds.
  • 140 miles (225km) of city range or 88 miles (142km) of combined stop-and-go and highway range, as measured using the MIC City and MIC Combined (70mph) tests.
  • Standard DC Fast Charge technology, which provides a 0-80% of battery charge in 40 minutes or 0-100% in 60 minutes.

The riding range figure provided follows an extensive SAE J2982 Riding Range Test Procedure and based on the expected performance of a fully-charged battery when operated under specified conditions. Actual range will vary depending on riding habits, ambient weather and equipment conditions.

Harley-Davidson also announced international pre-orders for LiveWire will open in April at the dedicated LiveWire and 2-EV page with deliveries expected from September 2019 in most European countries.

LiveWire is the apex in a new era of EV propulsion from Harley-Davidson,” said Marc McAllister, Vice President Product Planning and Portfolio. “As leaders in the electrification of motorcycling, we’re fulfilling our commitment by offering a full range of e-two-wheelers for the youngest of riders, all the way to the rider who is looking for a premium, high-performance EV experience.”
