Not all beasts hibernate…

It’s been a fairly mild autumn so far but winter is fast approaching, which for many motorcyclists means putting their bike into hibernation. But with better protection than ever now available – for our machines and us – that doesn’t have to be the case…

There are loads of beautiful, crisp clear sunny days, even in the middle of winter, when we can shake off those mid-winter blues and get that riding thrill back in our lives, as long as we’re prepared for them.

After all those summer miles make sure that your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is in great condition to handle everything the season can throw at it.  A post-summer service is a great way to keep your Harley® in excellent condition and corrosion protection treatment will give you the confidence to get out and ride whatever the weather. A quick post-ride wash is all that will be needed to remove the dreaded salt.

It also pays to have the right clothing; with safety and visibility topping the priority list. The useful layering system on our FXRG® clothing, with innovative materials that adjust to any climate or environment, helps to keep you warm and dry whatever the weather. The three-layer system combines a base layer to help regulate body temperature, mid layer to insulate against the cold and outer layer to protect against the elements like wind and rain.

Whether leather or textile, there’s a range of styles to suit every rider, while providing protection from the weather, comfort and versatility. Riding accessories, including helmet, gloves and body armour complete your winter gear to keep you riding through all seasons.

But, if winter riding really isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy your machine without the confines of a winter cover by taking on that awesome custom project. Starting now, means you’ll be ready to reveal your pride and joy when the first shoots of spring start to appear in 2019.
