H.D.U. offers the dealer network a wealth of classes and materials that cover a wide range of topics. Dealer principals and employees have several opportunities each year to develop their skills in many areas including Retail Sales, Customer Service, Dealership Operations and Technical Training. Classes are available at the H.D.U. West Midlands 'New College' facility.
One of the most important elements of a successful Harley-Davidson dealership is a knowledgeable and professional service department. When customers book a service or request information it is critical that skilled technicians are available to perform repairs, tune-ups and answer any questions. Harley-Davidson University Service School classes, factory Service School sessions, and in-dealership training programmes are just a few of the educational opportunities available. We also keep our dealers on top of the latest changes and repair procedures on-line, via h-denet.com®. Included are service bulletins, service letters and technical tips, just to name a few. For on-the-job service support, our trained staff of service professionals is available to assist you in resolving problems by phone, fax or e-mail.
Additional help is available through the Service Operations Area Representative assigned to your dealership. Your SOAR can train you and your staff on-site, enabling you to make your Service Department even more efficient.
H-denet.com is a state-of-the-art and secure Web site provided by Harley-Davidson UK that dealers access with a user ID and password. This internet-based communications tool allows you to interact with Harley-Davidson and conduct a variety of business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
The Retail Environment Group helps our dealers with their building and remodeling plans, creating profitable, attractive and highly functional floor plans and displays. This group provides hands-on assistance, materials and educational opportunities to attract customers and drive sales upwards.
You will be able to chose from a wide range of suppliers who all provide excellent retail environment materials. Our authorised design agencies will make sure that your dealership has a bespoke look, whilst representing the Harley-Davidson and Buell brands in a consistent and approved way.
We help generate traffic for our dealers by combining our national advertising and marketing programmes with point-of-purchase displays and other promotional items for your dealership. A co-op marketing programme, direct mail promotions, and ad planners are also offered. Each new model year, Harley-Davidson gears up its dealerships with a national Open House as well as other event-based marketing activities. These events are loaded with promotional ideas and tools to drive traffic into our dealerships. Other national promotions also drive the Harley-Davidson and Buell brands and we participate in motorcycle shows, rallies and other high profile events. We were also the first motorcycle company to have a fleet of demonstrator bikes at major events.
We have various professional programmes in place to continue fostering and improving retail sales performance for our dealers.
