10th Harley-Davidson® Euro Festival Rocks the South of France

By Mike Zimmerman, H.O.G. staff writer

That a sight it was. More than 2,500 motorcycles and 12,000 people poured into the beautiful Golfe de St-Tropez to turn this legendarily posh French tourist area into a legendary bikers’ town for three days in April. It was the 10th Harley-Davidson Euro Fest, and it will not be soon forgotten.

They came from France, and Italy, and England, and Spain, and Germany, and Sweden, and everywhere else, from across the continent and across the ocean. No matter where they arrived from, everyone was united by a common language: Harley-Davidson.

The sunny days were filled with great riding, provided by the scenic roads and countryside of Southern France. At night, concerts and parties raged to the early hours of the morning, with live music from bands such as Swedish rock legends Europe and the French band Shaka Ponk.

"No matter where they arrived from, everyone was united by a common language: Harley-Davidson.”

On Saturday, a loud and lengthy parade made certain everyone knew that Harley® motorcycles were in town, while the hilltop village of Grimaud set a spectacular stage for the Custom Bike Show. Back at St-Tropez, plenty of custom bikes, tattoo artists, painters, and other artists competed with the beautiful white sand beaches for the attention of rally-goers. Meanwhile, Harley-Davidson lured riders and non-riders alike with a Dark Custom™ display, demo rides, and the unveiling of two new bikes: the Roadster™ and CVO™ Pro Street Breakout® models.

As they say, there was “something for everyone.” And if there wasn’t something for you … well, you were probably in the wrong place.
