The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course is based on the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic RiderCourse(SM), and includes both classroom time and extensive on-range training. Remember: basic motorcycle rider training classes are not just for beginners. For the experienced rider, they can help you discover techniques that you may have never learned in the first place.
No matter how experienced you are, there's always something new to learn. If you’re an experienced rider who is serious about becoming a better rider, taking the Rider's Edge Skilled Rider Course is a great way to hone your existing skills, increase your confidence, and learn new mental skills and street strategies. You’ll learn advanced techniques of managing traction, controlling rear-wheel skids, stopping quickly, cornering, swerving, and more – all while riding your own motorcycle.
Riding in a group requires a special skill set of its own. To help you improve your group riding ability, the Rider’s Edge/MSF Guide to Group Riding course offers a special video-based group-riding curriculum. It is available for use by individuals, or in groups.
When you ride without a license, you do more than just risk the possibility of steep fines. You help drive up insurance rates for responsible riders and may risk tighter government controls on motorcyclists. So before you take to the streets, make sure you’re properly trained and licensed. For information on licensing requirements in your state, contact your state Department of Transportation or motor vehicle authority.
