Eddie Krawiec in action
Drag Racers

Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Eddie Krawiec is the 2008 and 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion, riding a Harley-Davidson V-Rod to the title in both seasons.

Krawiec began his motorcycle drag-racing career in 1999. Competing in AMA Pro Star, he earned nine wins in that series and twice finished second in Pro Star points (2002-‘03). He made his NHRA debut in 2004, and was working as the manager of Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J., when he was invited to join the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines team before the 2007 season. In his first full NHRA season, Krawiec qualified for the Countdown playoffs and finished seventh in season points. In 2008, he qualified seventh for the Countdown and won 14 of a possible 20 rounds during the five-race playoffs, and won the 2008 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world championship. Krawiec was only second driver and first since Rob Bruins (TF) in 1979 to win a championship without winning a race.

A measure of the consistency Krawiec brings to the drag strip is the fact that he did not commit a single red light foul (leaving the starting line early) during the 2009 season, while scoring five wins in 11 final-round appearances. Krawiec won two events in 2010, qualified for the Countdown playoffs, and finished the season in third place. He set a then-Pro Stock Motorcycle national ET record of 6.811 seconds at Pomona on November 14.

Krawiec opened the 2011 season by re-setting the Pro Stock Motorcycle Top Speed National Record to 199.26 mph en route to winning the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville. Throughout the 2011 season, Krawiec never dropped below third place in the points standings. He finished the regular season with the points lead, and went on to win two races in three final round appearances in the Countdown to the Championship to clinch his second career Pro Stock Motorcycle world championship.
