Living the Legend™ is a unique opportunity to become a lasting part of the Harley-Davidson Museum® in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Museums and cultural institutions around the world often provide ways for people and organizations to commemorate their affiliation through similar opportunities. We know our riders, employees, dealers, suppliers, as well as other organizations and the general public will appreciate the ability to make their mark on the Harley-Davidson Museum®.

	Living the Legend™ gives riders, employees, dealers, suppliers as well as other organizations and the general public a lasting way to show their connection to the Harley-Davidson experience for the life of the Harley-Davidson Museum®. For years to come, family and friends will be able to locate your personal rivet and learn about what Harley-Davidson means to you.

	For participating in Living the Legend™, you have the opportunity to express your unique connection to Harley-Davidson with a customized engraved message on a stainless steel rivet, displayed on either a curved steel wall or a special plaza on the grounds of the Harley-Davidson Museum® site for visitors to see for the life of the Museum.

Harley-Davidson has reserved three distinct places to display the Living the Legend™ rivets and the customized messages on them. A third area displays rivets from Friends of Harley-Davidson in a special plaza on the northeastern part of the Museum site. Friends of Harley-Davidson include suppliers and organizations that want to show their support for Harley-Davidson and the Harley-Davidson Museum®.

	Yes, there are wheelchair-accessible paths in and around the walls and plazas on the grounds of the Harley-Davidson Museum®.

	Yes. However, the rivets will be exposed to rain and snow. In the winter time, rivet viewing may be difficult due to occasional snow cover.

	The rivets are made of electro-polished 304 stainless steel.

	The Living the Legend™ walls are made of COR-TEN® steel. COR-TEN® uses alloying elements such as copper, chromium, silicon and nickel to enhance the atmospheric corrosion resistance of the steel. Also known as Weathering Steel, COR-TEN® steel will rust to a natural finish like you may have seen on some steel bridges and is popularly used in outdoor sculptures, such as in the large Picasso sculpture in Chicago.

	The rivets will be secured in concrete on the ground in the plazas. There are walking paths and handicapped access within and around the Harley-Davidson Museum® grounds so that all of the rivets can be viewed and enjoyed.

	Because your rivet will be displayed outdoors on the grounds for the life of the Harley-Davidson Museum®, it will be exposed to the elements, taking on whatever nature throws at it. The Museum will maintain the Living the Legend™ walls and plazas, but expect your rivet to weather.

	Your rivet customization will appear as you have submitted on your order form. In addition, you will have 72 hours after submitting your rivet to cancel or change your order.

Dealers and H.O.G.® Chapters can demonstrate their pride in being a part of the Harley-Davidson family with a customized, engraved message consisting of 4 lines at 18 characters each on 6” stainless steel rivet. The rivet will be displayed for the life of the Museum on a special plaza on the southeastern part of the Harley-Davidson Museum® grounds.
