Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sundowner is a great seat... 2009 XL1200C The seat works and feels great.... One slight modification to the front lug if the seat is to loose. 1/4" self adhesive felt pad cut to fit the top and bottom of the front lug, reinstall seat and most of the play is gone, also seats locks just fine. Well worth the money for sure. Looks great on my bike as well. April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable over stock seat I purchased this seat for my 1200C for the longer in the saddle days, it was night and day over the stock saddle for longer rides & added a little height. One great thing is that in a few seconds you can throw on the stock seat for the local rides. But the Sundowner seat is made so nice and can get you miles on a Sporty with so much more comfort. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Comfortable. Nice upgrade from the stock seat I had on my bike. Can easily go over 200 miles with little to no discomfort. Breaking in nicely as i ride more and becoming even more comfortable. I recommend this seat. September 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The sweet feel of comfort. I ran 63,500 on my 07' sporty with this seat. Never realized the difference it makes until a few weeks ago when my 07' was tragically taken by a cager and I bought a 12' sporty with a different seat. After that first long ride, I came running back here to buy my Sundowner. September 5, 2015

Answer:
This Sundowner seat is supposed to fit your model and year of course on a stock machine. I installed it on my 2007 1200C and it fit like a glove, I have the Badlander seat for my 883 and it is a great fit also. Good luck and safe riding!

I have an 07 Sportster 1200L and feel a little cramped on the stock seat with mid controls. Am hoping that if this will raise me a couple of inches, I may not need to go with forward controls.

Answer:
Your stock machine's seat is approximately 26.3" and the Sundowner saddle might add an inch of height due to its thickness and comfort. I would suggest looking into also a forward control kit for your bike if you are tall. My 2007 1200C has the stock forward mount which is great for my 6'4" height, and with the added Sundowner saddle I was very comfortable on longer trips. Good luck on your decision and have a safe riding season this year.

Answer:
Yes, you can still check the oil. It does not interfere with the seat.

Answer:
I have an 2009 XL1200C, my Sundowner just installed was also loose, after looking at it closely, I just used 1/4" self adhesive felt pad cut to size and placed on the top and bottom of the front mounting lug, and reinstalled the seat. It took a lot of the play out of the seat, and was more stable. Either way it does lock as it should.

Answer:
I have 2014 XL1200T and I bought the sundowner seat as well. It also is loose in the front. I have put 800 miles on the bike since adding the seat and have had no problems. I wouldn't worry.

Answer:
The downer is a an overall much larger seat. Provides at least 3 inches width for the primary and about 4 inches of width for the passenger. The foam itself is much thicker. It adds about 3 inches of height to the passenger, but its well appreciated. I didn't notice my riding position change much. Maybe a little higher, but nothing too dramatic. The overall look of the bike will change though. The downer looks like a big comphy couch compared to the stocker. Another huge plus is the way it absorbs pothole. I am not saying you don't get jarred, but its a big difference.
