    Model-specific Rider Backrest Mounting Kit
Rider Backrest Kit is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pushed Forward I'm 6'2", bought this backrest and a tall boy seat. The back rest is of good quality, installation using the non-adjustable mount was easy but there is no adjustment that allows me to sit comfortably. I have read other reviews, some had no problems so I took the chance. I would caution anyone who is my height or taller, and who is already feeling cramped, this backrest will only add to that feeling. I was pushed nearly onto the tank. Rode about 30 miles, took if off and put it in the saddlebags.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me After trying all possible positions with the mounting bracket, I did not find a enjoyable, comfortable setting. The furthest back setting made the backrest pad too high, also less room for my wife, and the closest one lowered the pad but it pushes you to far into the gas tank. Just couldn't find a sweet spot. Like an earlier review, the screw adjustment only adjusts the lean angle of the pad. Not for me, maybe one day if I get back pain but for now I'll do with out it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best for the Long Haul In addition to the Hammock seat I can go 10 hours plus before "back fatigue" sets in. I like the pressure that it applies to the armor in the rear of my jacket to give me firm support on the entire back. I was putting on a belt after about 150 miles but leaning into this pad gives me about the same effect. I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable Just got it. No complaints. Can be adjusted forward or back slightly with the screw on back of seat. Screw is under skirt of the seat.

Is this the proper backrest to use with the Tallboy seat on the 2015 Tr-Glide?

What mounting kit is recommended to use this backrest with the 2015 Tri-Glide Tallboy seat?
Asked by: TallMark
Hi TallMark. The rider backrest mounting kit for this backrest doesn't fit the Tri Glide. And the adjustable rider backrest mounting kit that does fit the Tri Glide, doesn't fit the Tallboy seat. So, unfortunately, you won't be able to mount a rider's backrest to your '15 FLHTCUTG.

Is this supposed to stand upright by itself?

There is a spring in this backrest. I thought that was to make the rest spring back to the upright position after I throw my leg over it. This backrest doesn't do that. It remains bent over and I have to push it upright. Is this normal?

Seeing is that it's spring loaded, it should pop back up. If you need to physically pull it up, there's an issue there. Check in with your local dealer to see if it can be fixed or if it needs to be warrantied.
