Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by You NEED this! This is a must have item, in my opinion, if you park in a garage with an opener. Just cycle the high/low beam switch and the door opens. The range is as good as my remote in my truck, if not a little better. I've put this on all my bikes and it always works flawlessly. August 24, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not compatable with all garage door openers This is my second HD garage door opener. The first unit worked very well with (unknown make) my previous home. The 2nd HD unit I purchased for our new home and new bike is not compatible with LiftMaster garage door openers. It appears the HD unit greatly reduces the range of the remotes that come with the LiftMaster garage door opener. I tried everything. I disconnected the leads from the HD unit to the opener and still had interference. It appears the HD unit emitts a signal that blocks the signal from a distance of 25 feet or more. I will add that the HD unit on the bike works great from 250 feet. Check the net, others have issues with other makes of garage door openers. I'm only commenting of the HD & LiftMaster combination. Rated 4 out of 5 by Garage door opener This unit works well, Easy to install after you figure out the instructions. Make sure you read all the instructions first and see what is needed for your bike. Once I figured out what I need to do it only took an hour to install & setup. August 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works for what I need. This opener serves it's purpose for me. The range is on the poor end. My normal opener gives a range of 75 yards. This opener has a range of about 75 feet. It's enough to open the door as I'm pulling into the driveway which is fine for me. Installation, I had to buy the extra cable to run under the tank and connect the unit. If you are already splicing into the headlight wire why not just splice into a positive and negative wire in the fairing as well? Not sure why I needed to buy the extra part and run it under the tank. I also didn't like having to extend the ground wire under the tank and back to the wire either. Now I have a skinny black wire with a barrel connector visible near the front of the gas tank. I will probably go back into the fairing and hit a negative wire there so I don't have the extra wire running back to the fuse box. The directions for installation need to be separated out. You are getting directions for all harley bike jammed all together. Very confusing. Installation took me around three hours but I am NOT mechanically inclined. The service manual was a must for me. Answer:
I believe so but you might have to ask the Dealer. The accessory wire harness for the door opener is located behind the left side cover.

Answer:
I am not sure, you should ask the dealer. It is very easy to sync up the transmitter and receiver so if you can get one, you should have no issue setting it up.

Answer:
The newest edition of the Remote Control Garage Door Opener Kit is the "B" model. Found a 2012 parts catalog that lists "A" and I think they switched it to "B" from 2013 onwards. Recommend checking with H-D store support 1-800-258-2464 or email store@harley-davidson.com to see if your bike will accompany this item.

Answer:
No, the wires are aligned with your existing wiring setup and does not have any external exposure. I would recommend downloading the installation instructions (PDF file) which will give you a better idea of the placement of wires.
