Rated 1 out of 5 by It's was battery operated I ordered this jacket by mistake. I was in the market for a heated jacket but I wanted one that I could add accessories to. November 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by No battery life This jacket is well made and very comfortable. However it is sized a little big for being a liner. This jacket only has 2 heating elements on the chest and 1 on the upper back. I was riding in low 40 degree weather and the battery was dead before I went through 1 tank of gas. There is currently no option to buy more batteries and you can't plug it in. Plus it says the charger has a red light to show when it is charging. Really? I must be color blind. In my opinion this jacket is a waste of money if you want a heated jacket. October 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by heated jacket This Jacket is perfect for putting under your leather jacket in those early morning fall rides, when the temp out side is in the low 30s,The jacket blocks the wind which is a big plus and with its built in heat source its makes those frosty mornings much more comfortable .On top of everything else the jacket looks good all by itself October 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product and Warm I just purchased the new battery pack model and so far I love it. I use it on cooler mornings and long trips. It also works great when full leather is just to warm. October 24, 2014

I recently purchased this jacket at my local Harley shop (impulse buy) and would like to keep a spare battery and charger at work just in case. Any idea where I can buy these separately? I can't seem to find them online anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had tried through HD but with no luck. The company that makes the jacket for HD is called Gerbing you can get a battery from them .As I don't work for either of those companies it doesn't matter but I did exactly what you did and ended up getting one from Amazon I hope this helps you

Is there a way to regulate the temperature? How can the battery be charged? Is there a cigarette option? There should be a way to charge the battery from the bike

Answer:
I just purchased this jacket 4 days ago at my local dealer. The jacket has a thermostat in a sense. It has four different settings that are controlled by the battery pack 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. If I can find my owners manual for it I will post them but max run time on highest setting is 4 or 5hrs. The battery is about the size of a pack of gum about 1inch thick. Also it has no visible wires the pack goes into a special pouch on the left pocket of the jacket. The jacket also has vents underneath the armpits that zip up or down as well. This is on a 3x3 Sticky for size comparison. The battery is charged using a 110volt outlet and takes a few hours to achieve a full charge.

Answer:
The new Recumbant Heated Soft Shell Jacket's battery has about 300 cycle charges and comes with a charger. We don't have a charger that's compatible with the bike as of yet, but we're working on a few things with our heated gear for the future. As for thermostat, this jacket doesn't have one, so it will stay at a steady temp.
