I received my touring windshield in a timely manner and was eager to slap it on. I also purchased the locking quick release as well.
However, when I took the windshield out of the package I noticed it was seriously flimsy compared to the Harley-Davidson Stamped Windshield I had on my VROD and it crinkled just handling it out of the box.
I'm a big fan of the Harley Davidson Stamped windshield, which this touring is not. Only the quick release have an emblem of H-D.
My V-Rod had a quick release 23" windshield which was Harley Davidson branded, and the flexglass was solid and didn't crinkle.
The first thing I observed on the touring windshield was all the noise it made and I could hear the flexglass crinkle like it was flimsy and was going to break. IMHO, the Harley branded winshield on my V-ROD never made this sound in all the times I took it off to clean and was not flimsy. Craftsmanship was not to par for me.
Second thing, was the that the hardware to mount the quick releases would not adjust to fasten the quick release to the shield. Regardless of how I placed the provided hardware( stud, concave washers, and spacer) they would not tighten. If I followed the directions with a concave washer on either end followed by space it was loose and left a gap and quick release was dangling. If I placed both washers on the outside and space on the inside where it met up with quick release it was a bit better but not snug enough to give me confidence on the road at 60-65MPH, let alone 45-50MPH.
Needless to say I returned the product and will be investing in an actual Harley Davidson Stamped Windshield that leaves quick release like I had on my VROD, but will see if local HD dealer has one on hand to preview before hand to make sure it is sturdy and does not crinkle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Schmedlack Easy to Install
Windshield is easy to assemble and install. Only needs a long Allen wrench for assembly. Hint: To be sure not to damage the clear plastic, wrap the Allen wrench with electrical tape.
No "leave behind" mounting hardware is best feature of the windshield. And since all mounting hardware is included, the expense of a bike specific kit is eliminated.
I concur with a previous reviewer, perhaps the windshield could be a little wider, Besides that, it's a good accessory.

Rated 4 out of 5 Good windshield - poor features
This windshield is of good Harley-Davidson quality materials, easy to assemble clamps, and tall enough so that you don't have to slump to block wind from your head.
However, the product description says it's suppose to deflect wind away from your hand grips ... which IT DOESN'T. It's also suppose to direct wind around the rider ... which IT DOESN'T. The hand grips are NOT affected (windshield needs to be wider in that area) and the windshield creates an updraft from the area between the seat and fuel tank.
I think for $450 Harley-Davidson could make a better product by adding a couple inches to each side so the hand grips are protected, and contour the bottom of the windshield to prevent updrafts.
