You get four Allen-head screws (2 for each peg mount) and one of the slots is completely covered by the exhaust so that you can barely even get a small portion of a small hand in to get the screw started and youll never in your life get a realistic tool back there. ONLY way to go about this is have a shop of your own or go to a shop. WORST part of all was that you must replace one of their old screws (a torx-headed one) which holds in a few cables. WHY?! I originally went out to get the allen wrench i needed and came back home thinking i would just use that until i looked closer to find out oh no, you need another tool--laughable really. A five minute job turned into a painstaking day job. WOW. again, i ask why?

I installed this after the Girl-friend wanted to ride along. She enjoys being able to rest her feet and I've heard no complaints about how close to the exhaust these sit. (Which was something I thought would bug her.) I'm going to replace the actual pegs to match my front pegs but still a great product.

Packed by my local Harley dealership -
And as usual - putting stuff in boxes is hard for them.
Pegs were sent without required screws -
Guess HD wants me to glue them on my 883.

I am the proud new owner of a 2012 Sportster. There were no passenger footpegs when I bought the bike so I ordered some. Installing the kit went fine. If you want to avoid removing the muffler some special tool is required to get the lower right machine screw in place. I used a standard Ratchet with with a small U-Joint.
If you'r planning on getting this kit do it sooner than later. Even though my 'new' bike isn't even two years old yet there was a little rust on the threads in the mounting holes (in spite of good looking plugs). Nothing serious yet, just something to watch out for.
