As a bigger guy and having forward controls, I actually found my inner thigh would rub against the rocker box cover. It gets pretty hot up there. I installed these to keep me from burning myself and they work fantastically. I've got a few hundred miles on the bike with these installed now and I actually forgot that this was a problem for me. Very happy with these and definitely recommend them.
As for the earlier poster that said they wouldn't work with his ABS, I do have ABS on my bike. The tank bracket is installed behind the ABS lines. the shield goes over the top of the lines. I double checked everything after the first night riding and I have no issues with rubbing.

At least in South Texas heat. By the time it gets to a certain temp (for me about 95), I'm not riding for a lot of reasons other than the performance of this heat-shield. If they look fragile, they are not.
Heads up: if you have a non-OEM seat (I had a Corbin on one bike), installation may not work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by skullman The air deflector did not work
I put this on my girlfriends bike after she got a blister/redness on her leg from the motor/exhaust after a 130 mile ride. She has a 2008 Dyna Super Glide Custom with forward controls. We took a 50 mile ride yesterday & when we got home she had the same redness on her leg. I'm going to put some mini floorboards in the mid control position so she can move her leg farther away from exhaust.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Fasteppy Doesn't work with street bob and abs
The discription doesn't say it won't work with ABS models but the top bracket will crush the ABS lines the run under the right side of the tank. If you have ABS I would check to see if your lines stick out right where your tank and your seat meet, because that is where the addition bracket for the deflector.
