When my heated grips finally gave up the ghost after 75,000 miles, I decided to give the HD heated gloves a shot. I like them by themselves or in conjunction with the heated liner. I got frostbite years ago, so my hands can get cold quickly, but with these on, I can ride all day in complete comfort. I use the optional rechargeable batteries for quick trips and winter commutes. Pricey? Yes, but I have had em for two seasons now and most likely would not go back to the heated grips

They really heat the outside of my hands, near the palm below the little finger. They heat that area so much so, you have to turn them off after a few minutes then your hands get cold again. If you don't, they burn you.
If the temperature is 50F they're okay. You turn them on for a few minutes, then off when it gets too hot. But if its 35-45F, you need them on longer and I wind up with burn marks on my palms.
In short, the heating elements aren't distributed evenly through out the gloves, causing you to turn them off too often which defeats the purpose of having heated gloves.

The gloves fit well, they keep my fingers warm (which is what they are supposed to do), but there is a nagging hot spot on one of the little fingers that can raise a blister if I just let it go. I've worn the gloves for a couple of seasons and I'm sure Harley would have exchanged them, but it wasn't a big enough problem to bother with.
A little wider gauntlet would be nice, but that's just a little nit-picky complaint. I otherwise quite like the gloves.
I spent two or three days in the rain riding down to the Grand Canyon last spring and didn't experience the problem described by a couple of the other reviewers. The gloves kept my hands warm and dry.
Even with the hot spot, I'd buy them again. I'd probably return them the next time if I experienced the same problem.
They aren't cheap, but nothing else I looked at before I purchased them was either.

These gloves live up to their description and have made a huge difference on cold mornings!
