Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Looking Air Cleaner I have a 2013 FLHRSE5 and didn't like the plain Ventilator air cleaner that came stock on the bike. This new one is gorgeous and catches your eye right from the start! It comes with the K & N air filter; all you need is to make sure you buy the spray-on filter oil and apply it right from the start! This is the best air cleaner kit for the CVO 110 engine. September 18, 2013

Answer:
This is a gorgeous air cleaner that includes a K&N air filter that needs to be VERY lightly sprayed around the outside for it to work properly. If you overspray the element, just use the spray-on cleaner and shake it clean. If you are careful you can set an air compressor regulator at 20psi and spray it dry from a 10-12" distance and when the color turns gray, re-oil LIGHTLY this time, wipe it dry with a paper towel, then install it. Always reassemble using blue locktite and when placing the outer cover on, be VERY careful not to over tighten the chrome screws or you compress the filter. Like everything "Harley" this takes a gentle touch and the blue loctite will keep the vibration from loosening the screws. I have never had a drop of oil drip from the filter. MODERATION IS THE KEY ON OILING THE ELEMENT!

Do you have to oil it right out of the box or is it "pre-oiled" from the factory? Install instructions don't say if you oil it when first installing.

Answer:
Yes, the filter must be lightly sprayed with K&N filter oil before using. Spray it on from the outside inward, and use it sparingly. Let it set on a paper towel overnight with the open face down. When assembling be sure to use blue Loctite on all the cover bolts and DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or you will crush the filter element. If any excess oil drips from the filter you applied too much. No need to disassemble, just wipe away the excess oil with an absorbent towel, then ride for a few hours. When you're done riding, place a towel under the filter to absorb any other drips and after one more ride you should be fine.
