Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mount it in the console Finally gave in that HD will not ever allow Bluetooth headset communications. Also noted that once installed it will be a bear in the future to remove the fuel tank as no way to break apart this harness. So after getting really upset that HD recommends mounting onto the painted tank I threw away the instructions and mounted the connector into the tank console as previous reviewer recommended. Removed the console, drilled a 3/4 inch hole through the console, left the tank on, and routed the wire past the gas cap to the front of the tank under the console, under the fairing up to the factory installed mating connector. HD could have made this truly plug n play, but instead you have to pull out a seal pin from the connector and install a short ground wire to a grounding lug. (YouTube showed how to pull out the insulator around the connector pins before pushing out the seal pin). A quick release connector in this harness would make tank removal a cinch but now will just need to remove the tank console first. February 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy install, Awesome clear sound Installed this on my 2015 Road Glide Special to get all the infotainment features in my helmet; too bad HD doesn't support bluetooth headsets. Instructions are easy but I did not install it 3M taped to the tank. I drilled a 3/4 hole in the console and it looks factory. Sound is crystal clear and far better than the SENA 10 headset I had. Rated 4 out of 5 by Owner Installed Conn. Kit I installed this on my new FLTRXS Road Glide. I did not want to mess up the paint job on my tank and since I won't be using the headset all the time, I installed the head set connector in the left side fairing glove box, "out of sight". The one issue I had with the installation of this kit was in step 2, "Removal of the seal pin". After messing around with this without success for a period of time and reading the service manual I had recently purchased, I had decided to cut loose the #12 ground wire from the harness plug and solder & shrink tube the item #7 ground wire directly to the harness ground wire and made my grounding termination as directed in the instruction sheet. Worked out well and looks like a "professional" did it. Dave from Peoria, AZ January 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This kit works awesome on my 2014 Street Glide Special Uke's Harley Davidson in Kenosha, WI installed this on my Street Glide Special. Did a great job. While in their dealership a new Street Glide CVO just came in and I noticed the Communication Kit mounted in the fairing to the left of the 6.5 boom radio. It was a very clean look. The instructions showed this Communication Kit mounted to the gas tank which didn't look like it belonged. Uke's installed it into my fairing and it works great with the half helmet headset. I love the capability of answering my cell phone when my kids or wife are calling while going down the highway at 65 mph. The music also sounds great through the headset. September 18, 2014

Have a 2016 RGS and already installed a 7-pin DIN connector for the rider to fully use the capabilities of the 6.5 inch BOOM! radio, but it occurred to me that when my wife rides with me, she has nothing to plug into. Limiting her abilities. Is there anything made and available by Harley that I can install that would work like what I find on the Ultras. In other words a passenger 7-pin for her to plug into? Pretty sure I will need the CB, and that's INWK. But...I'm certain that I would still need to install a second 7-pin somewhere on the back seat. Just cannot find anyone that's done it.

I bought the bike new, added the comm kit myself and the selection for headset is selected. The instructions say to update software with digital tech. Is there an enhancement after the update?

Answer:
Hi Doug !

You need to take your Harley to your dealer and have them "program" your Boom Box. The primary reason is that your Boom Box will recognize the head set. Otherwise, it will not work. My dealer did this free of charge.

Hope this answers your question ............................ David F.

Do I have to buy the console also?

On the 2015 Street glide special I don't see anywhere to mount the plug. Do I have to buy the fuel tank console also?

Answer:
Hi Dallepen,

I can not say exactly when or if we'll have the part, but HD is always striving to provide the products that our customers demand. This kind of feedback is exactly what we're looking for and helps us determine what to bring on board.
I would advised to check back periodically in the mean time and apologize I can not provide more information.

Thank you!
