Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by As advertised, even the fine print Easy personal install in about 30 minutes. It however doesn't work with the Tall Boy seat which is in the fine print on some of the seat descriptons but not anywhere on this product description. Really needs to have a full disclosure of what it fits with and what it won't. April 17, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice accessory in the right application. Mount is very well built and works great. With that being said I run 2 different seats on my 2014 FLHTK. I a factory Streetglide seat when I remove the tour pack. I also use a Hammock seat when the bike is fully loaded and I'm traveling. The second application is when I need this to work and while it does fit with the Hammock seat I mounts a little too far forward distorting the cut out in the seat to the point I believe it would eventually tear. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for long trips I bought this backrest and mounting hardware so I could extend my riding day, and it works. I have a 14 ultra limited and it took about an hour to install. If your not mechanically inclined let the dealership do it. I would definately recommend this product. I broke my back several years ago and have a hard time riding for long periods. I can now ride all day. January 3, 2016

Answer:
I had the kit installed by the dealership and they bolted it right up under the left side of the center front of the rider seat directly to the frame. You should find a couple of holes for it to mount to. My bike was a 2014 Road King.

Answer:
In the rear engine bay area on the frame work under the seat where you would normally install the plastic or metal heat shields.
Take off the seat or course and thread cable through the area above the battery.
Hope this helps.
The illustrated instructions pdf on the product page should shed some light on the location.

need a bolt

I had this backrest given to me and I need the bolt that attaches the adjustment lever to the frame. Is there a part number I need, or can I get the specs on the bolt so I can get one at the hardware store?

Answer:
Hi Dawg37179,

If you look at the "FL Adjustable Rider Backrest Mounting Hardware Kit Instruction Sheet" link, under the "More Info" tab, you will find a diagram breaking down this kit on the last page. It will give you the part numbers of the parts that are sold separately.

Thank you for your question.

Answer:
It should. I have the 52596-09A Adjustable Rider Backrest Mounting Kit (and a backrest) mounted together with the 97026-09 Chrome Passenger Grab Rail on a 2013 FLHTCU. The Passenger Grab Rail 52400042 has the same install instructions listed on the web page.
