Definitely needed on a Sportster
I bought these in order to be able to not only stretch out on trips but also to be able to operate the mid-controls with my heel. Unfortunately, the length of these "cow-horns" were way too long, looked dorky, and did not align with the mid-foot-pegs at all. So I took them to a machine shop, had 2 inches chopped out the middle, and welded back together. Then off to Kentucky to be re-chromed. Now they are perfect. They align perfectly with the mid-pegs and I can shift and brake with my heels without taking my foot off the forward pegs.

These peg mounts are awesome! These parts are rock solid and well built. There is no skimping on production quality and the finish was outstanding! Went on easy and looked great on the bike. The only downside is that they do not come with pegs and must buy them separately. Although that gives you the option to buy the ones you want.

Next best option to forward controls
Great product. Need to be able to move around on those longer rides. Let's you keep the sleek sportster lines and highway pegs without an engine guard

Do not bend anything!
I was dumb enough to tap my peg while driving and bent the bracket that holds the arm to my frame. Went to the dealership to buy a new one, paid, then received a phone call the next day stating i have to come in for a refund due to HD not being able to get the part... the guy then goes on to say no dealership in the country has the part.
There goes $200 wasted... not sure where to get a replacement now
