Rated 5 out of 5 by Jerry661 Awesome Look and Fit
Wife wanted a backrest for her 2016 XL1200CP. She picked out this one for the looks and one piece design (cheaper than side plates and bar). The parts guy got us the correct mounting hardware. The bar was heavier (stronger) than expected. Super easy to install approx. 10 min. perfect fit, looks great.

Bought the one piece detachable sissy bar (part #: 52300040A) for my 2014 SuperLow 1200T (XL 1200T). Returned the first sissy bar due to chipped chrome and scratches, the second one I ordered was ok. Also ordered backrest pad (part #: 52631-07), which fits the sissy bar well, and my wife says it's comfortable. The XL 1200T already has the docking hardware in place for the saddlebags (you do NOT need to buy additional docking hardware to attach the sissy bar). Initial install takes some effort to get the sissy bar into the docking ports. Looks awesome once in place. The sissy bar and saddlebags round out the bike nicely. The sissy bar and backrest pad are overpriced, but I could not find another decent option.

Installed one on my 2007 1200XLC Sportser to make the ride safer for my 8 year old nephew. I did find it a little confusing determining which mounting kit was required but finally found that it is part # 5355404. This mounting kit comes with four 3 3/4" bolts which were too long for my application (I need two 2 1/4" and two 2 1/2" bolts). Since only the last 1" of the bolts provided are threaded I could not simply hack saw them down, but had to purchase bolts. Though I was a little disappointed at this added expense and hassle, once I had the proper bolts installation was easy, the fit is excellent, looks nice, and I feel a lot better knowing I can accelerate without fear of losing my nephew. I also like that I can remove the bar when I'm riding solo.
