Get Started with the Essentials

Whether you're getting ready for a motorcycle safety course or jumping on your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle for a weekend trip, Harley-Davidson has riding gear and apparel specifically designed for women, for both on the road and after the ride.

Here's the basic riding gear you'll need:

  • Jacket - A long-sleeve jacket to protect your upper body and arms.
  • Pants - Jeans, chaps or leather pants for comfort and protection.
  • Boots - Over-the-ankle boots with a sturdy heel and non-slip soles to protect from hot exhaust pipes and debris.
  • Gloves - Full-fingered motorcycling gloves to protect you from the elements and aid your grip of the hand controls.
  • Helmet - A helmet will provide vital protection in case of an accident and cut fatigue by reducing wind noise.
  • Eyewear - Goggles or glasses to protect you from the rain, dust and bugs.
