The Tomahawk Operations facility was established in 1963 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and quickly became the sole supplier of fiberglass parts for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Since then and after several expansions, the Kaphaem Road and Somo Avenue facilities comprise 192,000 square feet, standing proudly on 96 acres of land.
Employees manufacture plastic and fiberglass parts, including saddlebags, and windshields. Tomahawk's Somo Avenue facility paints, assembles, and ships the components to the York Vehicle Operations facility where it all comes together on Original Equipment motorcycles. Kaphaem Road produces windshields, Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories, as well as components that are used at the Kansas City facility for Sportsters and VRods.
Your tour begins with an introductory movie. Then you'll head for the factory floor and discover the individual touches that give Harley-Davidson motorcycles their distinctive style as parts are molded, coated, machined, and painted. Afterwards, move down the line to sneak a peek at the finished products. Take a trip to Tomahawk and go behind the scenes of style and tradition, where custom is king.
