Harley-Davidson Street Custom Concept Bikes
Both bikes are built for an urban environment and feature the new Revolution X engine, designed to match the demands of stop-and-go traffic with nimble agility, while delivering instant throttle response to escape city gridlock.
The Revolution X engine will be housed in a new, narrow and lean chassis built for agility, with a super-low seat height, new suspension and broad handlebar sweep that provides confidence and maneuverability when managing tight turns and fast moves. Both signature Dark Custom motorcycles feature a premium, minimalist style that serves as a blank canvas for riders to customize.
The Street Challenge
The acclaimed and passionate Harley-Davidson Styling team, based at the Willie G. Davidson Product Development Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was given the challenge of creating the Street Custom Concepts, a project that aimed to demonstrate the infinite customization potential available to Harley-Davidson customers around the world.
Taking the minimalist, dark and rebellious new Harley-Davidson Street 750 and 500 models as a blank canvas, the styling team came up with three concepts designed to inspire a whole new generation of urban riders – Garage, the RDX 800 and the Urban Custom.
Chetaan Shedjale, one of the Lead Designers at Harley-Davidson, summarizes the inspiration and customization features the RDX 800 Street Custom Concept.

Industrial Designer at Harley-Davidson Motor Company
Tell us a little bit more about your job role at Harley-Davidson?
I am one of the Lead Designers for Harley-Davidson Motor Company, based at the Product Development Centre in Milwaukee. In this role, I am responsible for the industrial design of current and future products whilst also supporting The Motor Company’s outreach motorcycle projects. The role is challenging and very satisfying, as I have to visualise and develop products that not only meet our customer’s needs but also put a smile on their face. I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to turn a passion for motorcycles into a profession!

I also hold a Masters Degree in Car and Transportation Design from SPD (Scuola Politecnica Di design), Milano, and an architecture degree from Shivaji University, Kolahapur, Maharashtra, India.
Which Harley-Davidson bikes do you ride?
I ride lots of Harley’s of course but the specific models I like to hop on include the Sportster 1200 Custom, Softail Heritage and CVO Breakout.
