Harley-Davidson revealed the prototype/concept XR1200.
The prototype concept XR1200 was revealed at the INTERMOT International Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany. The prototype was inspired by the Motor Company’s legendary XR 750 dirt track racer. The prototype featured a 1200cc air-cooled V-Twin with downdraft fuel injection, specially tuned Showa suspension with 43mm inverted front forks, high performance four-piston caliper Nissin brakes, and lightweight cast wheels with dirt track inspired design. The motorcycle was released in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in early 2008 and later in the year to North American markets.
