This racing vehicle is powered by a 750cc sidevalve motor with an integral 4-speed transmission. It was raced by Harley-Davidson team member Bart Markel during the 1965-66 racing season (and probably longer). Markel was AMA Grand National Champion in 1962, 1965 and 1966.
The bike has a full fairing, aluminum wheels, standard frame and "bread box" gas tank originaly designed by Willie G. Davidson. The bike has received 1969 updates. It features double-leading show front brake, aluminum oil tank, all ball bearing engine, dual Mikuni carburetors, domed pistons and special wheels and brakes. It was last raced in the mid-1970s.
This vehicle is currently in storage at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, on the third floor of the Archives.
