As Senior Vice President of Motor Company Product & Operations for Harley-Davidson, Michelle Kumbier provides strategic direction and oversight and is responsible for ensuring the availability of products globally including Motorcycles, Parts & Accessories, and General Merchandise.
Kumbier leads a team of more than 4,500 employees worldwide to bring Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Parts & Accessories and General Merchandise to market through world-class product-development, supply management, and manufacturing methodologies. Her teams are focused on designing and delivering outstanding products that fulfill customer dreams and fuels market growth with a key emphasis on product innovation; reduced time to market; flexible, customer-responsive production; product and process quality; and continuous improvement.
Kumbier joined Harley-Davidson in 1997 in operations purchasing, and has since taken on roles with increasing responsibility in purchasing, strategic planning, new business development and Parts & Accessories. In 2007, Kumbier was promoted to Vice President, Materials Management, adding responsibility for corporate quality leadership in 2009. In 2010, she was named Senior Vice President, Product Development, and in 2012 she was named Senior Vice President of Motorcycle Operations, a position she held until assuming her current role in 2015. Prior to joining Harley-Davidson, Kumbier spent 11 years with the Kohler Company in Kohler, Wis., where she held various positions within the Plumbing and Engine divisions.
Kumbier holds a BA in Marketing from Lakeland College and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
